Figure Flattering Friday: Transitioning from Summer to Fall

Fall is one of my favorite seasons! I love pretty much everything about it except that it gets dark early… Keep reading for tips on how to transition from summer to fall without breaking the bank!

Tip # 1: Keep those maxi dresses front and center! Pair them with a belted blazer, chunky sweater or denim jacket. The trick to wearing a maxi dress in the fall is to layer up and then define your waist to offer added structure.

Tip # 2: Add tights or leggings to your outfit to add texture and warmth! Tights and leggings go great with long shirts or short dresses and a cute pair of boots!

Tip # 3: Speaking of boots… opt for booties or short boots instead of tall boots to add an edgy look to dresses or pants without the high cost of high boots.

Tip # 4: Layer your basic t-shirts and dresses with scarves, vests, or cardigans. It’s a great way to transition pieces. Layering is also great if you live in an area like Louisiana where the day starts of feeling fallish and ends feeling summerish…

Tip # 5: Wear what you want, ignore the rules! Whether it’s not wearing white after Labor Day, skipping tights with open-toed shoes, or even pairing black with navy, these rules limit the scope of your fall wardrobe.
